What we collect
- When you buy: your email address, your name and your country as your card issuer reports them, plus what you bought and when. Your card number never reaches our servers. Stripe takes the payment and we see only the country and the last digits.
- When you visit: a visitor number kept in your browser for 400 days so you are counted once rather than twice, where you arrived from and which advert or link brought you, which pages and products you looked at, your device type, and your country, which we work out from your address on our own server without asking anyone else.
- Your internet address and browser description: read on every request. We use them to stop abuse, we send them to Stripe as a label on your payment and to Meta with purchase events. We remove them from our sending queue as soon as that event has been sent.
- When you ask for help: your email address, your subject and your message.
- When we email you: whether it arrived, bounced, was reported as spam, or was unsubscribed from.
- Your marketing answer: what you chose, when, and the exact words you answered to.
Cookies
- psn_vid, 400 days: counts you once, not twice.
- psn_attr, 30 days: remembers which advert or link brought you.
- __Secure-psn_cart, 30 days: keeps your basket.
- __Host-psn_csrf, for the visit: stops other sites acting as you.
- psn_cs, 1 hour: matches your payment to your download.
- __Host-psn_id, 30 days: keeps you signed in.
- _fbp and _fbc, set by Meta, and Google's measurement cookies: advertising and traffic measurement.
Who else sees your data
- Stripe, to take the payment: your email, name, country and card, and your internet address and browser as a label on the payment.
- Meta, to measure advertising: your email address, first and last name, country and visitor number, each scrambled so they cannot be read back, and your internet address and browser description, which Meta takes in the clear.
- Google, for traffic and advertising measurement: the pages you view, and on the thank you page your email address, so a sale can be matched to an advert.
- Amazon Web Services, which sends our email.
- Hetzner, where the site and database run, on servers in Nuremberg, Germany.
We do not sell your data, and none of the above may use it for their own purposes beyond providing these services.
Marketing email
If you are in the EU, the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, Canada, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Japan or South Korea, we send marketing email only if you have said yes. Everywhere else you can unsubscribe at any time and every marketing email carries the link. Receipts, download links and licence emails are not marketing and go to every buyer.
Where your data is handled
Our site and database run in Germany, inside the EU. Forest Techno LLC is a United States company, and so are Stripe, Meta, Google and Amazon Web Services, so your data is handled in both the EU and the US.
How long we keep it
Orders and receipts for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Your account and your downloads for as long as you have an account. Backups for 14 days. Your internet address and browser description are removed from the sending queue as soon as the event they were needed for has been sent. Support messages and email delivery records until we remove them.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent. Write to lightroom@forestech.io and we answer within 30 days. In the EU, the UK and Israel you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
This site is not for children and we do not knowingly collect their data.
