A tonal statement does not much care what is in the photograph. The same pair of decisions, a black point lifted off zero and highlights diffused outward into the frame, will read as calm on a field of mist and as tender on a face beside a window.

Soft Pictorial by Gauzewash is eighteen looks in that register. The softness is pictorial rather than blurred, spreading the bright end a little and keeping contrast low enough that a frame reads as atmosphere before it reads as detail. Orchard rows, mist over a field, light through a curtain and a horse standing in grass are the photographs it is shown working on.

Today the group runs to that single pack. Where the mood you want is carried by hue instead of by softness, the colour harmony and palettes group is the better shelf.
