Every skyline has haze between you and it, and a sky that goes white at the horizon. Rooftop Parapet is the reference: dehaze over distance, blue luminance pulled so the sky grades down to the roofline, and the orange in the brick and the streets left in. Water Tank pushes the dehaze to the family maximum for the longest views. Horizon Band is the gentlest, for a soft distance.

The view leg is the skyline. Distant Ridge cools the grade for atmospheric separation when there are hills behind. Skyline Haze puts blue saturation at the top of the range for a hazy day where the sky is the subject. Terrace Balustrade holds the blue hardest and keeps the near railing neutral.

The roof leg is underfoot. Aerial Grid keeps the near plant from being crunched. Air Handler and Roof Ladder lead with sharpening for mechanical units and thin metal. Tar Deck takes the blacks deep and opens the shadows on the felt. Antenna Mast pulls the highlights so a mast stays dark against bright sky. Gravel Roof, Vent Stack, Helipad Circle and Crane Boom each answer one thing on a working roof. The city leg looks down: Chimney Field carries the brick across the distance, Block Pattern reads the city as geometry, Avenue Run keeps the street floor warm.

Why I Make These

I am Netzah Elad Topaz. I take photographs and I build software, and the two keep leading me back to the same problem. You were there. The light was doing something you will not see again. Then the photo comes back flat, and it is not what you were looking at.

Closing that gap is the whole job. Every preset here is built from Adobe defaults by hand, with a written note for what it should do to a picture, and it is judged on photographs before it ships. Nothing is a filter dropped on top of your work.

What I want is simple. You open a photo you almost gave up on, you tap once, and there it is: the day you remember, not the file your camera handed you. That is worth doing properly.

Questions, answered

The haze is heavy. Which one first?

Water Tank. It has the strongest dehaze in the set and the lowest blue luminance, so the far edge comes back and the sky still grades down. If it looks crunched, step to Rooftop Parapet.

Does it work at night?

It works at blue hour and dusk, which is when most roofs are shot. Full night with a black sky wants a night collection; the dehaze here is built for distance in daylight.

Do these work in the free Lightroom app?

Yes. Import the .xmp files in the free Lightroom app on iPhone or Android, no subscription needed. They also work in Lightroom Classic and Lightroom on desktop.
